The general theme in the world of personal finance is fear. I’ve worked in the industry for a long time and more than I can ever remember people are afraid of loss. And, if they’re not afraid of loss, then they’re afraid to make a decision (which is really the same thing because that means they are afraid to do anything for fear they’ll make the wrong choice).
